One of the great things about encouraging students to develop a love for reading is that it doesn't have to be a daunting task!  It can actually be really fun.  Last year at Spring Hill Academy, we started a coin drive to raise money to purchase books and equipment from Scholastic for our school.  The goal was $500 and the students raised over $600 in a matter of three weeks!  Two of our teachers were then pied in the face by the entire student body and staff, bringing the competition to an end.

This year will be no different!  Starting January 5, the coin drive begins and runs through January 27.  Each class is working together and against each other at the same time.  They are working together
as a whole to raise $500 so that Coach Adam Parrott and Mr. Wilson can be pied in the face while at the same time competing against each other to win a Pizza Party for their class.  Last year's competition was fierce and the students loved every minute of it (especially getting to pie the teachers).  The competition has begun and students are excited to try to reach their goal again.  If the goal is met........Pie in the Face 2012 will be the next event to look for!
